Horizontal Directional Drilling

Trenchless conduit and utility installation under roads, driveways, and developed sites, with minimal disruption to the surface.

Expanding division

Under the surface, not through it.

Horizontal directional drilling installs conduit and pipe underground without open-cutting the surface above. It's the right method for crossing roadways, driveways, landscaping, and congested utility corridors.

We drill for telecommunications, electrical, natural gas, and water infrastructure.

Ironline's directional drilling division is expanding. We use HDD for conduit installation, fiber routes, and utility crossings, and continue to invest in equipment to take on longer and larger-diameter bores.

How the work runs

From layout to restoration.

  1. Locate & planUtilities located and verified, and the bore path planned around them.
  2. Pilot boreThe drill head is steered along the planned path from entry to exit.
  3. ReamThe bore is enlarged to fit the conduit or pipe being installed.
  4. Pull backConduit is pulled back through the bore to the entry point.
  5. RestorePits are backfilled and the surface is restored.
